JOB TITLE: Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Coordinator
SALARY: $33-$35/hour Salary dependent on education and experience.
SUMMARY
Under the overall supervision of the Food Services Manager, the Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Coordinator is responsible for overall coordinating and implementing the content area of Nutrition operations. This includes all Head Start programs operated by Self Help Inc. The Registered Dietitian (Nutritionist) is to provide nutritional care to applicants and participants. Head Start provides preschool education for low-income children ages 3 to 5 years.
Job Description
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Developing- menus with Foodservice Manager, meeting Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements.
- Develop and conduct yearly USDA training for staff, including civil rights data training.
- Assess each child’s height, weight, and BMI twice yearly with follow up with the families.
- Develop monthly nutrition activities, and other nutrition activities, as requested.
- Develop nutrition education for back of Monthly menus, targeting parents and children.
- Develop Nutrition plans for children with special nutrition needs, in collaboration with parents/guardians, medical professionals and other staff.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian preferred.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree.
- 1 Year of experience in child nutrition preferred.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
- Requires a valid MA driver’s license.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lb.s
